Throw a Fun-in-the-Snow Party

Turn a winter party topsy-turvy by bringing the kids out into the yard for some fun-in-the-snow.

Ages: Adults and Kids 6 and Up
Duration: Over One Hour

WHAT YOU NEED

Freshly fallen snow! Since this has to be a last-minute party, don't stress on the details. Just phone parents with an instant invitation.
Summer things such as kids sunglasses, flip-flops, sunscreen, goggles.
Warm NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® and mini marshmallows. For hot NESQUIK, add 2 tablespoons NESQUIK to 1 cup of hot milk. Stir.
NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Cookie Dough.
Pails and shovels or pots and spoons for the snow.
Goodie bags filled with NESTLÉ® SNO-CAPS®, inexpensive mittens or ear muffs and winter themed stickers
A camera

WHAT TO DO

Outside:

Have a scavenger hunt in the yard for summer items you have "hidden."
Have the kids fill a pail or pot with handmade snowballs to bring into the house. Adults can help make the balls.
Take pictures of each child participating in activities.

Inside:

Serve warm NESQUIK. Have the kids float the marshmallows in their mugs and serve with TOLL HOUSE cookies.
Pack each child's snowballs into a sealable plastic bag and label with child's name.
Send everyone home with a goodie bag and a bag of snow balls.

FOLLOW-UP FUN

Send each guest a thank-you note along with his photo from the party. Sprinkle in some fake snow from the craft store.
When the parents ask what to do with the snowballs, tell them they can teach a mini science lesson. Tell the kids they can place their snowballs in a variety of places: the window sill, freezer, fridge, a plate, the garage. If the temperature is too hot, the snowball melts.
