    WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 – Empty 40.7 oz NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® canister (washed and dried)
  • 18”-20” pieces of felt, pink or brown
  • 1 sheet of white felt (approximately 9” x 12”)
  • 2 - 8 1/2” x 11” pieces of craft foam, pink or brown
  • Wiggly eyes
  • 3 white pipe cleaners, 3 brown pipe cleaners
  • Craft glue gun
  • Craft knife
  • Cardboard or cork sheet 1/8” thick
  • White faux fur fabric (approximately 1/2 yard)
  • Large pompom (white or black)
  • Small white pom-pom or small piece of styrofoam

    HOW TO DO IT

  • Clean and dry an empty 40.7 oz NESQUIK canister.

  • With the yellow plastic cap removed, wrap and glue the felt all around the outside of the canister. Cut (2) 1 1/2” slits, 1” apart (about 1 1/2” from open end of canister) where the foam ears will be inserted.

  • Using the template provided, cut 2 ears out of craft foam. Cut out the tabs as indicated on template. Fold the middle tab forward and the 2 side tabs toward the back. Apply a small amount of glue to each tab and insert the ears into the slots.

  • Using the lid, trace a circle on the felt and cut it out. Glue onto the top of the lid. Cut a 1/4” strip of felt to glue around the edge of the lid so that the lid will be completely covered.

  • Glue the wiggly eyes to the covered lid.

  • Glue the small white pompom or Styrofoam piece under the eyes to create the nose.

  • Cut the 3 pieces of pipe cleaner in half and glue 3 on each side, just under the nose to create the whiskers.

  • For the tail, glue a large pom-pom to the back of the canister.

  • Use the template provided to make the bunny's feet. Cut out one set made of cardboard or cork, and 1 set made of faux fur. Glue the faux fur to the cardboard.

  • Glue the fur feet to the bottom of the bunny bank.

  • PARENTS ONLY: Cut a slit in the top of the bunny bank large enough for coins to drop in easily.

  • Now the bunny is ready to be fed.

    TIPS

  • Let the bunny dry overnight before you begin to use him.
