Get in Shape with WorkOut Weights
Stay in shape by making and decorating a special pair of weights. Make a set for everyone in the family!
Get in Shape with WorkOut Weights
Ages: Adults and Kids 6 and Up
Duration: Under One Hour

    WHAT YOU NEED

  • 2 empty NESTLÉ NESQUIK® 16 oz Ready-to-Drink bottles (per set)
  • Colored permanent markers
  • Sand or pie weights (available at cooks stores)

    HOW TO DO IT

  • Take 2 empty and clean NESTLÉ NESQUIK® 16 oz Ready-to-Drink bottles.

  • Peel the NESQUIK label off of each bottle. (Use scissors to make a cut in the top of the label for easier peeling.)

  • Fill each bottle with sand or pie weights.

  • Weigh each bottle separately to determine its weight.

  • Write the number of pounds on the outside of the bottle with the abbreviation "lbs" underneath.

  • Decorate the rest of the bottle with colored permanent markers and stickers.

    TIPS

  • Make sure you test the markers before writing on the bottles. You don't want ink to come off on your hands!

    FOLLOW-UP FUN

  • Make a set of weights for the whole family. Even the smallest members can participate; their weights can be filled with air!

  • To make sure the little one's weights are not left somewhere on your family jog, just tie a length of heavy twine around the top of each weight and they can hang them around their necks.

  • Make a physical fitness chart to help the family maintain a regular exercise schedule.
